    The Western U.S. AURORAForecast is a 12-month forecast of monthly electric prices for WECC trading hubs(e.g., Palo Verde, Four Corners, COB) and market areas (e.g., Southern California).

Forecast of Monthly Prices Over 12 Months

The forecast is delivered monthly and includes average, on-peak and off-peak prices.  The AURORAForecast offers power marketers, traders, generation owners, aggregators, governmental agencies, and large commercial and industrial customers an intermediate-term projection of Western U.S. market prices.  

The report includes the assumptions, forecast results and a discussion on uncertainty.  The results are summarized in charts and tables for monthly prices for the 12-month period and monthly price volatility.

Based on Fundamental Market Drivers

AURORAxmp produces forecasts by using fundamental market drivers.  The AURORAForecast reflects projected loads, coal and natural gas prices, and hydro conditions for the desired market area.
