AURORAxmp Version 9.6 Released
We are pleased to announce a major new release of AURORAxmp -- Version 9.6.
AURORAxmp Enhancements
Spinning Reserves: Version 9.6 of AURORAxmp has new logic to specify resources to provide spinning reserves. Use the new Spinning Reserve column in the Resources table to implement this logic.
Web Scraper: This version includes a new tool called the Web Scraper that can import external data from websites directly into AURORAxmp.
Nodal Capability Enhancements
Branch Outage Handling: Version 9.6 includes the ability to schedule line outages for branches and transformers. There is a new Branch Outage nodal input table that can be used to dictate a specified time period in which the branch is removed from the system.
Infeasibility Handling: The optimal power flow (OPF) solution in AURORAxmp Nodal uses a linear programming solution (LP) in conjunction with a DC power flow algorithm to solve the nodal dispatch in an optimal fashion while recognizing system constraints. Given the complexity of commercial power systems, it is possible to present the LP with a problem that is infeasible, meaning it is not possible to simultanieously honor all generation, demand, and transmission constraints represented by model inputs for the hour. AURORAxmp now has the ability to handle these infeasibility problems.
